Earlier this month, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma embarked on a spiritual trip to Vrindavan. The duo visited Baba Neem Karoli Ashram and gave blankets to needy people there. They also spent some time there with their daughter Vamika.
Several pictures of the couple seeking blessings at the ashram went viral on social media. Anushka shared some special moments from the trip on Instagram.
She also posted some beautiful photos of the couple arranging a religious feast, called Bhandara, for 100 saints at Swami Dayanand Giri’s ashram. The couple can be seen praying and taking blessings with folded hands during the ceremony.
Another picture of the couple holding a plate of food and offering it to the ashram’s priest was also going viral on social media. Anushka captioned it: “Aa saathe koii nthii tilk rhyao hto krte, je sNskRti aathi che!”
The cricketer-actor couple is in Rishikesh for the next few days and looks like they are having a great time. On Wednesday, Anushka shared a series of photographs from their trek in the mountains. She even penned a quote from Neem Karoli Baba in the caption.
It is quite evident that the two have a love for nature and have a deep connection with their roots. They have been embracing their culture in a big way and have made it very clear that they are true believers of the Indian way of life.
On the work front, Anushka is gearing up for the release of her first film since Zero (2018) – Chakda Xpress. She will play the role of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the biopic. It is bankrolled by Anushka’s production company Clean Slate Filmz and will be released on OTT soon.
In the meantime, Virat Kohli will be taking on Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series starting February 9. The four-match series is a must-win for India and will determine the top two spots in the World Test Championship.
Ahead of the crucial match, Kohli and Sharma also organised a Bhandara for 100 saints at Swami Dayanand Guri’s ashram. The pictures of the event have gone viral on social media and fans are going crazy over them.
Besides seeking blessings, the couple also donated woolen clothes to needy people and spent a good amount of time at the ashram. The couple is also a part of PM Narendra Modi’s initiative, Clean India Campaign and have been promoting it on their social media accounts.
They have also been educating the young generation about the importance of India’s culture and traditions through their social media posts. They have also travelled across different parts of the country.
The cricketer-actor duo is on a serious spiritual journey and they are doing everything possible to make the most of it. They have already been to some of the most famous spiritual destinations and are set to visit more in the future. It is only a matter of time before they become true believers and show the world the real India.
