If you are a fan of Bollywood actor David Warner, then you must have been impressed with his latest stunt. He is a big fan of Indian cinema and shares videos on his social media. His recent post on Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan has garnered 4.3 million views on Instagram. Moreover, it is also one of the most viewed posts of the year.
David Warner, the Australian cricketer, posted a video on his Instagram profile that juxtaposed his face with that of SRK’s. He even recreated the famous ‘Pushpa’ dialogue. After all, the movie is about an upcoming coolie in a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. In the video, David Warner is seen doing a hook step like Allu Arjun’s character ‘Pushpa’ in the film.
Since its release, Pathaan has broken multiple records in the box office. The film has registered over Rs 60 crore net in India, and is also the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 200 crore mark. The film has also set numerous records in the Tamil and Kannada markets, and has been a hit in other parts of the world.
Besides being a massive hit in the box office, Pathaan has also fetched accolades from critics and fans. Recently, the film grossed over Rs 429 crore worldwide in four days. This was despite a boycott by Bajrang Dal activists who stormed a theatre in Narengi where the film was scheduled to be screened. It has also earned over Rs 480 crore internationally in five days. And, it is the shortest Hindi film to enter the Rs 200 crore club.
Apart from the box office numbers, Warner’s post has also made headlines because of his unique gesture. His stunt was accompanied by a two-wheeler. During the movie, Warner has been seen dancing to the song ‘Rowdy Baby’ sung by Dhanush. But, he didn’t stop there. Instead, he also tried out the ‘Srivalli’ hook step, a dance move that is also featured in the film.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is gearing up for his next big screen venture. He last appeared in Shrimati, but is looking forward to his next outing. As such, he has been busy with many projects. He is working on a film titled Icon and also hopes to star in Pushpa 2.
Despite the controversy, Pathaan has proved to be a big hit for both SRK and Warner. The film’s gross has exceeded all expectations, and its box office collection is only the beginning. With a huge fan following and numerous awards, the film continues to be a rage amongst fans. Moreover, ‘Pushpa’ has become the talk of the town. Even before the film’s release, it was already being praised by some of the most renowned cricketers in the world.
Hence, it is no surprise that many have taken to imitating the steps of Allu Arjun and his characters. It hasn’t just been cricketers who have been catching on to the ‘Pushpa’ moves, but also leading actors from other fields. For instance, a leading FMCG Fast-moving consumer goods brand has given its thumbs up to the film.
