In the picture, she is seen wearing a white ensemble, which is the perfect fit for the role. The actress also flaunts some of the curves in her physique in this photo. Besides her performance in the upcoming movie, which is directed by Shiva Nirvana, the actress is also starring alongside Vijay Deverakond in a romantic entertainer titled Kushi. Interestingly, the aforementioned film also stars Samantha’s ex-husband Naga Chaitanya and Aashritha Daggubati, who is her cousin.
Considering her recent health scare, fans are wishing Samantha a speedy recovery. She has been under treatment for myositis, a condition where her immune system mistakes healthy tissue for germs and attacks it. Her latest movie Shaakuntalam will come to theaters on February 17th. It is a cinematic adaptation of the famous Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa. Featuring the gorgeous actress in the titular role, the movie is bankrolled by Gunaa Teamworks and Sri Venkateswara Creations. However, it had been delayed several times, but finally got its release date. As the name suggests, the film is about an epic love story between the King Dushyanta and the daughter of a sage, Shakuntala.
Although the movie will hit theaters in Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, the first single from the movie, the Mallika Mallika, is expected to be released in other languages. For the most part, the song is set to Mani Sharma tunes. However, a lyric video was also released to accompany the song, courtesy of the makers. Of course, the movie also owes its success to its leading lady, Samantha, who not only embodies the role of Shakuntala, but delivers a solid performance in the role as well.
The movie’s best feature, however, is that it can be considered a trifecta of sorts – the film is produced by Neelima Guna, who is a producer in her own right, and it is directed by the award-winning Gunasekhar, who has helmed several critically acclaimed films in the past. Finally, the film also has some major props to its credit, such as an impressive soundtrack, and a stellar cast. If this movie can do the things it is promised to do, it could be a huge hit.
