Signs of insecurities in a relationship: Both partners should feel valued, worthy, and secure in a relationship. This healthy relationship characteristic is ripped apart when there is extreme insecurity in the relationship. Varying from jealousy to controlling behavior, relationship insecurity can attract itself in numerous destructive ways. Your insecurities in marriage may or may not be authenticated, but they create unhealthy behaviors regardless of your reasoning. Now that you know the consequences of insecurity in a relationship, it is time to move on and understand some signs that say someone is insecure in their relationship.

Insecurities in a relationship:

Paranoia and disbelief as to your partner’s location

The endless questioning of your partner’s location and intentions can be tiring for both partners and weaken your relationship. Unfortunately, the hardest thing to do when you are insecure is to trust your partner.

The next time you get into an argument with your partner about their actual location, remind yourself that your partner has never given you a reason to doubt them, and stop doing so.

Jealousy

There is a specific level of jealousy in a relationship that is supposedly healthy. After all, you are committed to a relationship, and you do not want someone else to break what you have created. But, there is a problem when this healthy jealousy turns into negative insecurity.

Negativity

Controlling behavior, such as demanding to end friendships because they make you uncomfortable. Getting too close or clingy with someone else

just to make your mate jealous. This emotion seems completely justified while you are in the moment, but it is not worth wasting a great relationship over. Practice learning to let go and build trust in a relationship.

Demanding access to social media

One sign that you are insecure in marriage is if you demand access to your spouse’s electronic devices such as phones, or social media accounts. You may be paranoid, wondering if your mate has inappropriate conversations in messages. If you do it, there is a sign that you are insecure in the relationship.

You always check social media

Even if you have your partner’s passwords or access to their phone, your insecurities still can not be quieted. Instead of going straight to your partner’s device, you deliberately check their social media. You may continuously check up on their exes via social media. This can lead to unhealthy arguments and more in-depth insecurities.

You hate to be left alone

If you are insecure in your relationship, being left alone is your worst suffering. The silence is haunting. The fear of being left alone can lead you to stay in an unhealthy relationship that does not deserve your attention or time.

Fear of losing your partner

One of the signs that you feel insecure in a relationship is the constant fear of losing your partner. Relationship insecurities make you feel like you are not worth someone’s attention, love, and time. So, you find yourself obsessing over whether your partner likes you, enjoys being with you, is attracted to you, finds you annoying, or desires to leave you for someone else. This fear seems affirmed when you have been through a rough patch with your partner where possibly they lost your trust.
